U9s Yellow Reach Cup Final!

2 May 2016 by Simon Wright

The U9s Yellow won their semi final convincingly to move into next weeks final. An fast start put the Yellows into a 4-0 lead at the break, and they continued to create chances throughout the second half. All in all it was a very assured performance from the boys, and theygo into next weeks final in confident mood.

After the game assistant manager Greig Bertram caught up with us to reflect on the mornings events.

‘Before the game we told the lads to firstly go out and enjoy the match. We told them win or loose we had already achieved something by getting there. We knew the opposition would be strong defensivly, but our wingers recieved the ball from midfield well and Ryan took his chances.’

‘In the second half we told our defenders to give their striker some space and make the challenge on the turn. They did this well and he never really got a look in.’

Attentions now turn to next Sunday’s final at Euxton Villa against BAC, and he added ‘All in all the lads have showed why we are in the final, the encouragement between them makes us move into next week final on a positive.’

If you’d like to go along and support next week, kick off is 10.00 at Euxton Villa FC.
